McAfee® VirusScan Protection is an exceptional security tool for home users. It provides them protection against viruses, spyware, and assorted known unknown malware threats hidden in fake online virus removal applications, add-ons, plug-ins, and pop-ups, etc.. McAfee® VirusScan Protection comes both as a standalone antivirus program and an integrated part of a McAfee antivirus program.
So, the process of disabling the VirusScan protection differs slightly for the programs. This was mentioned in the undermentioned free McAfee antivirus support manual. Be certain you follow the instructions correctly to avoid confronting McAfee antivirus issues. Start looking for the McAfee VirusScan program on the Desktop or the system tray (there’ll be an M icon). As an alternative, you can open it in the Start button and All Apps.
Right-click the icon, click VirusScan and purpose to Disable. When prompted, click on the Yes button to confirm the action. You’ll see that the M icon has turned black rather than the vibrant red. You may re-enable the program anytime you want, simply reverse the aforementioned procedure. It’s advised that you turn it on if the specific issue that you were facing has been solved.
It also needs to be turned back on if this is the only security application you’ve got on your computer. It should be your priority to use the program features to protect your computer from known and unknown threats. You will see that the McAfee® Security center (or VirusScan Console) window. Start looking for the VirusScan option from the left-hand panel.
Click on it and it’ll show the status like VirusScan is now protecting your computer from viruses on the peak of the screen combined with the choices like Scan Under the status, you may see click here if you would like to disable VirusScan. Click on either click here or disable the link and disable the VirusScan feature. When done, click on my security center option (at the right-hand panel, just above VirusScan) and you’ll realize this telling VirusScan – Protection Disabled beneath my support standing.
Exit the VirusScan Console or Security center window. To re-enable the attribute, follow the same process and click enable. If you’re using a newer McAfee antivirus version, you may not see such options., open McAfee antivirus. You can also switch off the real-time scanning feature. So to disable the real-time scanning feature, browse to Configure and then click the Advanced button. Click on the Computer & Files link and choose the Off button. Click on the OK button to save and close the fluctuations.
